What Is I.O.I?

I.O.I or "Inter-Orientation Intimacy" occurs when two people of different opposing sexual orientations have a sexual encounter. This blog will focus mainly on the phenomenon of straight men and gay men having sexual encounters.

I.O.I should be considered a situation or an experience rather than a label or a sexual orientation. A straight man who engages in I.O.I may do so for many reasons, usually situational, as a matter of convenience, loss of inhibition through narcotics and alcohol. I.O.I does not dictate a person's sexual orientation or preference, and should not be used as an indicator for such. I.O.I mainly centers around behavior, sexual prowess and pleasure, culture, and masculinity rather than sexual attraction, identity, preference or perceived sexual orientation, attraction, identity, preference.
